Why This Course Exists

What Cosmetology School
Didn’t Teach You

Cosmetology school gives you a foundation—sanitation, state board preparation, the basics of cleanliness and compliance. That matters. But it stops well short of preparing you for the real demands of bridal work.

Working a wedding is a different discipline entirely. The pressure, the timing, the client dynamics, the logistics of being on-location with a full bridal party—none of that is covered in a standard program.

And no client can afford for you to figure it out on her wedding day.

This course bridges the gap.

What You’ll Learn That School Skipped

  • Bridal timing, pacing, and real-day pressure
  • On-location setups and field sanitation
  • Client communication before, during, and after
  • Veil placement and accessory coordination
  • Styling across all hair types and textures
  • Managing a full bridal party on a strict timeline
  • Professionalism, mindset, and bridal-day expectations
Who This Course Is For

This Course Is For You If…

    • You have foundational hairstyling training and want to specialize in bridal
    • You’re freelancing and ready to elevate your bridal service offering
    • You’re a salon professional seeking advanced, niche training
    • You’re passionate about beauty and want to enter a high-demand market
    • You want hands-on instruction in a small, focused environment
    • You’re serious about building real skills and working real weddings

    An Honest Word About Bridal

      • Bridal is not for everyone—and that is okay
      • You will start early, consistently and without exception
      • Clients will be nervous, particular, and sometimes difficult
      • You will travel, carry your own kit, and adapt on the fly

        Four-Week Curriculum

        Every Session. Every Skill.

        Week 1

        Sunday, June 28 · 9:00am – 1:00pm

        Fundamentals

We start at the foundation. You’ll build your technical base with a thorough review of kit essentials, curl patterns, and curl structures—then put it into practice on doll heads. Marissa covers face framing, tendril technique, bridal hair preparation, consultation skills, and the shortcuts that save real time on a wedding day. We’ll also address how haircut structure affects bridal styling and how to create face-framing sections on clients who don’t naturally have them.

        Week 2

        Sunday, July 12 · 9:00am – 1:00pm

        Glam Waves

Glam waves are specific enough—and important enough—to deserve their own class. This session covers wave preparation, structure, timing, and consistency, along with refresh techniques you’ll use in the field. You’re not expected to master glam waves in one sitting. The goal is to understand the technique deeply and commit to the practice it requires.

Doll heads should be washed and air-dried at home before this session.

        Week 3

        Sunday, July 19  ·  9:00am – 1:00pm
        Updos
This is a free-form session—and one of the most valuable. Students build a style the way they think it should be done: high bun, low style, twist, half-up. Marissa then teaches the most efficient path to the same result. Then the stopwatch comes out. “A bridesmaid is in your chair. Go.” Client communication is covered in depth: how to involve your client mid-process, when to show the front, and why revealing a finished style at the end is the biggest mistake you can make.

        Week 4

        Sunday, July 26 · 9:00am – 1:00pm

        Final Evaluation
        + Veil Placement

The final session is a real-world simulation. Each student receives a different style assignment and executes it under time pressure, evaluated on speed, cleanliness, professionalism, and finish quality. Veil placement is taught in full—with updos, half-up, and down styles—including how to remove the veil without disturbing the style and the exact pin placement that keeps it secure.
Students are informed of the evaluation format on Day 1. Come prepared.

        Have Questions?
        We Have Answers.

        Is this course for beginners?

This course is designed for hairstylists who have foundational training—whether through cosmetology school, self-education, or professional experience—and want to specialize in bridal work. If you’re actively styling hair and want to elevate your skills and confidence in a bridal setting, this course is built for you.

What do I need to bring?
Students must bring their own professional hairstyling tools—curling irons, brushes, clips, bobby pins, and related essentials. Bring your own doll heads if you have them; the studio has extras available. A complete tool and supply list will be provided upon enrollment.
        How long is each class?

Each session runs from 9:00am to 1:00pm—four hours of hands-on instruction. The course spans four Sundays over approximately one month, totaling 16 hours of professional training.

What if I miss a session?
Each session builds directly on the last, and the small class format means your presence matters. Regular attendance is strongly encouraged. If you anticipate a scheduling conflict, please reach out to us at [email protected] as early as possible.
        How do I register?
Click any “Reserve Your Spot” button on this page to register through our booking system. A $100 retainer is required at registration to hold your spot. Registration closes June 21, 2026—or when all 7 spots are filled, whichever comes first.
What is the payment and refund policy?
A $100 non-refundable retainer is required at registration to hold your spot. The remaining $399 balance is due no later than June 23, 2026 (five days before the first class). Students who pay in full are eligible for a complete refund if they cancel by June 21, 2026. Cancellations after June 21 are eligible for a partial refund only. The $100 retainer is non-refundable under all circumstances.
        Will there be course materials?

Yes. Students will receive supporting materials including a tool and supply checklist, weekly homework and practice assignments, style reference guides, and session notes. All materials will be shared with enrolled students prior to the first class.

What makes this different from other beauty education?
This is not a one-size-fits-all workshop. The class is capped at 7 students so every person receives direct, personalized feedback from a working professional with 14 years of bridal experience. The curriculum is built around real-world scenarios—timed drills, client communication, field sanitation, veil placement—not just technique in isolation. You’ll leave with skills you can actually use at a wedding.
